Here’s a really ‘wild’ story for you soccer lovers out there! This guy here truly comes alive, whenever he spots a soccer ball, let alone has one thrown to him to play with. This lively animal has more gorgeous hair than Beckham himself, and he could certainly give him a run for his money.
Triton the lion, was bred in captivity at the Johannesburg Zoo in South Africa and is completely happy in his habitat. His keepers at the zoo hand-raised him with love and affection. And even though it would be completely wonderful for this amazing animal to have been free to live in the wild, the unhappy truth is that the zoo is a much safer place for him to be. Lions of Triton’s breed have suffered greatly and their numbers are rapidly declining in the wild, due to poaching and habitat loss.
Triton, who stars in the following footage, was becoming bored with his daily routine, according to his care providers at the zoo. So one day they threw him a soccer ball, and a star was born! It was just good fortune that they stumbled across the key to his passion. Playing soccer isn’t particularly a “lion thing” as his four other friends weren’t into the activity at all.
