Lynx are medium size cats with a short tail, black tufts of hair on the tips of their ears, and large, padded paws. They are solitary cats that can be found roaming the forests of North America, Asia, and Europe. There are four known living species of lynx the Eurasian lynx, Canada lynx, Iberian lynx and the bobcat.
The average weight of these cats is from 22 to 44 pounds. Lynx are very stealthy and usually, avoid contact with humans. The coloring of their fur, the fur length, and paw size varies based on the climate they live in. The paws of a lynx may be larger than a human hand or foot and are well suited for walking on the snow.
Having said all that – look at this lynx and her best friend!
Yep! Linda is a Eurasian lynx that lives at the St. Petersburg Zoo in Russia, and her best friend is a calico cat named Darling!
The story is that Darling was a stray that had wandered into Linda’s enclosure; she was looking for some food. At the time (back in 2007), both Linda and Darling were kittens.
