A small and adorable kitten was found during a storm caused by Hurricane Matthew, now has a nice, new sweater to protect her from cold. She’s also got a forever home, full with lovely people.
When a family headed over to PetSmart in Northwest Raleigh, North Carolina to take a look at the shelter kittens, they met a very special kitty that needed a little extra TLC.
While the father and his children were looking at all of the rescue kittens, a vet assistant walked over to them and said that they had a kitten that could really use a good home with people who could care for it.
The vet assistant came back with a tiny tabby in a small sock sweater (to keep her toasty warm), and the family fell in love immediately.
The kitten had been rescued and brought into the store the day before, while the hurricane storms were still ongoing. “The vet assistant said she was about 3-4 weeks,” said Sarah, an employee at the store.
“When I first saw her I had to fight off the temptation to take her home myself,” Sarah said. “This kitten was so soft and precious and the guy’s kids were really awed by her.”
The father consulted with his wife about adopting the tiny kitten. A few moments later, his wife was holding the tiny fur baby “protectively cradled against her and they were shopping for kitty supplies.”
“I was so happy to see her go with them,” said Sarah. “They bought this huge and fancy litter box, and they were all extra excited so I think Tube Sock Sweater Kitten is in good hands.”
