Bringing a rescue dog into your life and giving it a forever home is truly one of the most satisfying moments in any person’s life. These animals are often rescued from horrible homes and have suffered a lifetime of abuse. So, when they’re given room to play, nutritious food to eat, and tons of love, it’s actually a gift that’s better than any other.
When an Australian family made the decision to take in an abused Doberman called Khan into their lives, they were ecstatic. The unfortunate dog hadn’t had an easy life growing up. That’s why his new mom, Catherine, made him a promise that she would do whatever it took to make certain that he felt like a part of their family.
However, after four days in his new forever home, Catherine saw Khan behaving oddly around her 17-month-old daughter, Charlotte. He began by shoving her around in the backyard, and before Mom had time to do anything, she saw her little girl go flying through the air!
For the first few seconds, Mom was absolutely horrified, but then things got even more bizarre when suddenly Khan yelped in pain. He sounded like he had been stabbed! And then Mom realized the horrifying truth…
Khan’s paw had been bitten by a deadly king brown snake. As everyone knows, Australia is home to some of the deadliest snakes in the world. And this snake’s venom can easily kill a human. To a little girl like Charlotte, getting bit could very well have deadly consequences.
But, even after Khan’s paw had been bitten, he was able to fend off the snake. He stood there, right in between his little girl and that deadly creature. Khan was barking at the snake furiously, even though the venom was now coursing through his veins. The amazing dog was able to frighten the snake away and then he collapsed.
The story of this brave dog’s love was so incredible, that within no time the story of his courage went viral. He made news worldwide! And it isn’t surprising that people have dubbed him “Khan The Wonder Dog!”
Fortunately, Mom was able to rush him to a vet clinic that had an antivenom, and Khan, our brave hero, survived! After spending just four short days in the company of his new family, he had already put his life in harm’s way in order to make sure that they were safe.
So, for those people out there that think that Doberman’s are “aggressive,” you may just have something there. They are aggressive, toward anything that could pose a threat to their family! Doberman’s are unbelievably devoted, and if given just a little bit of love, they’re sure to be a friend for life!
