Not everyone likes dogs. Some people had a bad experience with a dog when they were young and may have a fear of dogs as a result. Others never grew up with a dog in their home and have that ‘fear’ of the unknown about having or approaching dogs. Despite her fear of dogs, 16-year-old Anita Valkova chose to help a dog in need.
Anita saw Alfeiya, the dog, lying injured on a schoolyard. To make things worse, some kids had started to taunt Alfeiya and throw rocks at her. Alfeiya called her family and waited for 2 hours for her dad to get to the school.
Instead, they carried her to the veterinarian’s office. The doctor found that Alfeiya had demodectic mange (a curable mite infestation common in younger dogs), gave her medication, a bath, and a meal.
