Many dog breeds have been raised to chase down prey for human consumption. These prey animals include deer, bunnies, and other assorted forest animals. This practice has been going on for so long that it has become an innate part of what the breeds are. But no one told this dog that. In fact, she seems to be doing quite the opposite of what she should be doing.
Meg the dog was laying out in a sunny field, enjoying the smells and peacefulness of it all, when the tiniest baby bunny wanders up to investigate.
Instead of seeing the critter as something to be devoured, Meg sits by and lets it get really close. It was so tiny, that the dog probably didn’t even know what to do with it.
She offered a few gentle paws and nose touches to the animal as it hopped around in confusion.
But the bunny didn’t seem to want to get very far, and Meg was right there behind it to offer it any advice.
