Two-year-old Teresa was found on the streets in Thailand with serious injuries after someone tried to kill and eat her. Fortunately she managed to escape and get taken in by a local animal rescue, but they didn’t have the funds to get her the needed medical care.
Two New Jersey women, Michelle Weirich and Karen Quigley, are working together to bring Teresa to the U.S. to treat her and offer her a new home.
However, she will need an expensive oral surgery, which includes looking at nerve exposure, removal of broken teeth, accessing her nasal passage, dealing with tongue trauma, palate opening to examine nasal functioning, and anything else that might impact her future health. She’ll probably also need a second surgery to reconstruct her muzzle.
Weirich and Quigley created a GoFundMe campaign with a goal of $7,000. Until on January 28 when will bring her to the U.S., she’ll stay at the animal rescue in Thailand.
Teresa will go to a vet in Robbinsville, NJ, on February 1. If you want to help her, you can donate here.
