Stephanie Lipscomb, a 20 year old nursing student, received devastating news not long ago. She was diagnosed with a brain tumor, and her life was forever changed. At first radiation and chemotherapy managed to remove 98 percent of the tumor, but then the cancer came back. It looked as though Stephanie would soon die, so she agreed to try an experimental treatment.
Doctor’s injected Stephanie’s brain with the polio virus. They really didn’t know what would happen when they did that, but Stephanie had no other options. Amazingly, the polio began to kill the cancer. After 21 months, the tumor is entirely gone and Stephanie is doing just fine. If you want to know more about this process, you can click on the video below and watch the story of Stephanie’s treatment.
Cancer research is always trying new treatments, and hopefully soon we’ll be able to get rid of cancer entirely.
