Sometimes in life there isn’t time to think, you either act, or the moment passes by. Such was the case recently for Raden Soemawinata. While walking along the pier a Maltese- Shih Tzu was blown into the ocean by a gale force blast of wind.
Her owner, Sue Drummond, from Melbourne, Australia, had been walking the tiny little dog, named Bibi, and could never have imagined just how dangerous the pier was going to be.
In a heartbeat, the tiny pup was fighting for her life in the pounding seas. Sue watched in horror as her little Bibi struggled to paddle back to her, but instead he was slowly being swept away by the tide.
That’s when Soemawinata undressed, down to his underwear and plunged into the water below to help little Bibi. Soemawinata had never met Sue or Bibi, but he realized that if he didn’t do something right away, there was going to be a horrible tragedy that day on the pier.
Cold shock: Ms Drummond is reunited with her canine friend, as she thanks the heroic actions of Mr Soemawinata
Relief: Bibi, seemingly unaware of the drama that just unfolded, is now back at home warm and fed and in the arms of his owner.
Bibi’s amazing rescue comes just days after a dog cheated death three times when he twice fell down a 100ft cliff in Dorset and then swam nearly a mile to the safety of a yacht.
