In June 2016, a game between the Kansas City Royals and the Detroit Tigers lasted 13 innings! During the eighth inning, Josh Lee and Michael Warner left Kauffman Stadium because the heat was too much for them. The temperature in Kansas City that day was well over 90 degrees. On the way to their car, they heard a dog whimpering. They followed the cries and ended up finding the puppy in a blue Honda.
The puppy, 3-month-old, was very happy to be out of the car! One hour after the game had ended, the puppy’s owner was nowhere to be found. The incident is being investigated as animal cruelty. If convicted, the dog’s owner could face 180 days in jail and a $1,000 fine.
