Geoff Grewcock runs the Nuneaton & Warwickshire Wildlife Sanctuary, a registered charity, in the UK. The sanctuary treats and rehabilitates wild animals that are sick or injured. After the animal becomes healthy, most are released back into the wild. But, not all of the animals make it back to their natural environment because they may have been too seriously injured.
Their injuries may prevent them from taking care of themselves, or they need long-term care. Every so often, an animal arrives and decides they don’t want to leave! The animal finds the love and attention just too much to pass up, and they refuse to go back! Bramble the young deer was one of those animals!
When Bramble, a stag, was discovered, he was only 2-weeks old!
He was found comatose in a field. Eventually, with the care of Geoff, Bramble came out of his coma. Geoff raised the deer by hand.
So, Bramble grew up with Geoff and his four dogs. He had no deer role models and now thinks he is a dog! Bramble will sit by the window and watch people come and go.
He will also greet friends and family when they come to the door – just like his canine siblings!
