Vitiligo, according to merckvetmanual.com is a hereditary pigment disorder of the skin. Humans and cats can have this disorder, it causes the loss of skin (and hair) color in blotches. In cats, it is a rare condition that is not noticeable at birth. Onset occurs when cats reach young adulthood.
